At unpredictable times of the day or week, the wait to be seen at one of our immediate care clinics may be longer than at other times. And, although we normally see patients without an appointment, at these times we operate a call-back list to allow you to better plan your visit.
Whenever the wait time at one of our clinics exceeds approximately 40 minutes, patients are given the option of placing their name on a list to be called about 15 minutes before they are due to be seen. You can then go about your business secure in the knowledge that when you are called to return to the clinic you should have a very short wait before being seen. This option is also available to those who call the clinic when the wait time exceeds 40 minutes.
Please keep in mind that all times are approximate and that any particular patient may take longer to treat. Also, please understand that more seriously ill or injured patients may be taken out of order at the discretion of the provider on duty.
For prompt refill of your prescription medication, please call your pharmacy directly to request a refill a few days before you have used up your medication. The pharmacy will check their records and, if necessary, fax an approval form to your doctor. Your doctor will confirm the information from the pharmacy about your prescription and either fax back approval for the refill or contact you about your medication. This process typically takes about 48 hours and facilitates direct, accurate contact between two of the professionals concerned with your health care: your doctor and your pharmacist.
To comply with federal privacy regulations about the release of medical information, we do not give laboratory results over the telephone unless we initiate the call to the number we have on file. Normal results will be mailed to you, or your doctor will be contacting you directly as appropriate. Please do not call about your laboratory tests unless you have not yet received your results one week after the sample was given. Occasionally more extensive testing must be done by outside laboratories. Services provided by outside labs will be billed directly by them.
To ensure that you have uninterrupted quality time with your healthcare provider during your examination, we ask that you turn off your cell phone or pager when you enter the examination room.
